Princeton Review: Lesley College "a school on the move"
Posted August 18, 2010
Lesley College students glowed about their school to The Princeton Review this year, landing the school a spot in the publisher’s The Best Northeastern Colleges: 2011 Edition.

Lesley University, as a whole, was also included in U.S. News and World Report’s 2011 Best Regional Universities list, which considers student/professor ratio, SAT scores, student retention and acceptance rate, among other factors. The annual Princeton Review survey of students at Lesley College, an undergraduate school, found what Princeton called “a school on the move,” citing Lesley University’s new suite-style residence halls, new fitness center and expanded library. Students, as usual, said they love living in the heart of Cambridge, next door to Boston and with students from The Art Institute of Boston.
But the report extends beyond campus considerations to credit Lesley College as a place where “atypical is typical” with a “really, really diverse group,” according to one student.

Another student wrote that required internships are “all about hands-on learning and trying out the professional field you want to work in.”
The Princeton Review’s analysis of Lesley College concluded that “commitment to social justice is just as important as academic credentials here. You can’t just talk a good game; your extracurricular activities should show that you’ve acted on your principle.”
An annual survey of students and admissions data, The Princeton Review’s The Best Northeastern Colleges book was released Aug. 10. U.S. News and World Report will feature college rankings in the September issue, out Aug. 31.
