Community of Scholars 2011: Pictures
Posted April 1, 2011
The third annual Community of Scholars Day kicked off at University Hall with an crowd-pleasing performance by Lesley’s a cappela group, Harmageddon. After a few words from Lesley President Joseph Moore and SGA President Sarah Groh, the day continued with a variety of presentations, panel discussions, and interactive projects.
All classes were canceled for the day so that students and faculty were free to participate in the day’s events, which covered a wide range of academic topics as well as featuring live theater, music and dance performances.
“Today’s Community of Scholars events provide many opportunities for members of the Lesley community to engage in dialog with colleagues in sessions that reflect the diversity of scholarship from across the university,” said Provost Marth McKenna. “We celebrate together the creative inquiry of our peers who are performing, presenting and exhibiting their scholarship in order to expand and enhance our landscapes of learning.”
The day concluded at 7pm with a closing ceremony which included Japanese drumming. Photos below highlight the variety of the day’s scholarship. (For more, visit our Facebook Album.)
